Easy Homemade Goulash Recipe

One Pot Family Meal

It’s more than a simple supper

Feeding a big family day in and day out teaches you quickly that meals don’t need to be fancy—they just need to be filling, dependable, and made with care. Goulash has been one of those steady recipes in our home for years.

It’s the kind of meal I can throw together without overthinking, using what I already have in the pantry. On long days, when everyone is hungry and I need something that will stretch and satisfy, this is one of the first things I reach for. It’s simple, hearty, and always brings everyone to the table.

Hearty, Simple Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • Garlic
  • 3 cups water
  • 2 jars tomato sauce
  • 2 jars diced tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp bouillon
  • 3 cups elbow macaroni
A One-Pot Meal

Brown beef, cook onion and garlic, drain. Add everything except pasta and boil. Simmer 20 minutes, then add pasta and cook until tender.

Serve It Up

Top with cheese and serve warm.

From My Kitchen

This is the kind of meal that fills more than just bellies—it gathers everyone around the table, and that’s what matters most to me.
