Growing up everyone I knew had movie nights at their house.
In my house, we had music nights!
Dad would bust out record after record and 45s.
I was taught to “dance light” at an early age. So not to rattle the needle and make the record skip and scratch.
We would sing and dance and laugh.
It went on for hours.
Song after song.
Dad had a game he created called “Who’s this”
He would quiz me on who the artist was and the name of the song.
By 14 I was beating my mom. ![]()
Because of this I have random 70s lyrics floating around in my head on the daily.
I bet I could beat anyone my age on 60s and 70s song trivia.
The night always ended with Elvis.
Always. And I always got to pick it.
Some of the greatest memories I have of my parents are of these nights.
The dancing and jokes and stories they told me of memories they had of times in their lives.
I played this game with my kids in the car a lot when they were growing up and we have our music nights around the bonfire with YouTube and Spotify playlist’s and boom speakers.
